Shop rules & limits The key numbers and rules the system enforces, in one place.
The values below are the shop's operating rules. Most can be adjusted by staff in
Settings → Shop policies ; the figures here are the usual
defaults. Always confirm the live values in the admin portal.
Rule Usual value Notes Weight bands 500 g, 1 kg (and named sizes) Meat is sold in fixed sizes; never a random final weight. Same-day cut-off 18:30 (London time) Order by this time for a same-day slot. Stock/slot hold 30 minutes Reserved while the customer pays, then released if unfinished.
Rule Usual value Notes Delivery area Mapped zone (~15 driving miles at its farthest)A drawn boundary around the shop, checked by real routing — not a straight-line radius. Addresses outside it are refused. Free-delivery threshold £20 Orders over this get free delivery; smaller delivery orders pay a fee. Collection Free Picked up from the Plaistow shop on the chosen slot.
Rule Behaviour Capacity Each slot holds a limited number of orders; full slots disappear from the customer's choices. Low-slot warning The admin warns when fewer than 14 days of slots remain. No slots If the calendar empties, customers cannot order at all.
Rule Behaviour Card payment Handled on a secure payment page. Pay on collection Available for eligible orders; needs staff approval before preparation. First-order discounts Apply automatically at payment — no code typed at checkout.
Rule Behaviour 14-day cooling-off Does not apply to fresh meat.Quality guarantee Meat must be satisfactory quality and as described (consumer law). Reporting window Report problems the same day or within 24 hours . Refund time Typically 5–10 working days to the original payment method. Cancellation Full refund before cutting ; at the shop's discretion afterwards.
