The basket
Reviewing items, adjusting quantities, and moving to checkout.
The basket (also called the cart) is where the customer reviews everything they have added before paying. It is reached from the basket icon in the header.
What the basket shows
For each item:
- The product name (linking back to its page)
- The variant and total weight (for example "500 g · 250 g total")
- The preparation choices made (for example "Minced, bone removed")
- Any note the customer added
- A quantity control — a minus and plus button (minus is disabled at 1)
- A Remove link
- The line total
On the right (or below, on a phone) is the order summary:
- The subtotal
- A reminder that delivery, discounts and live stock are confirmed at checkout
- A Continue to checkout button
Adjusting the order
- Change quantity with the plus and minus buttons. The line total and subtotal update immediately.
- Remove an item with the Remove link.
- Edit choices (weight, preparation) by returning to the product page.
The three states
Briefly, while the basket loads, the customer sees "Loading your cart…". The basket remembers items between visits on the same device.
Prices and stock are confirmed at checkout
The basket shows a subtotal only. The final figure — including any delivery fee or discount, and a final check that everything is still in stock — is confirmed on the secure checkout and payment screens. This prevents surprises if stock or pricing changed while the customer was browsing.
