Catalogue (products)
Creating and editing products, prices and photos, plus categories, collections and preparation options.
The catalogue is everything customers can buy. It lives under Shop → Products and its related pages. A product needs a few things before it can sell: its details, at least one price/size, at least one photo, and stock published for today.
The products list
Shop → Products lists everything, searchable by name. Each row shows:
- The product name
- Its listed status — Active, Draft or Archived (whether it appears in the shop)
- Whether it is in stock today
- Whether it is featured
- The price from (its cheapest size)
- An edit link
Listed vs in stock
These are two different things. A product can be active (listed in the shop) but still show as out of stock today because no daily stock has been published for it. Both need to be right for a customer to buy.
Creating a product
Shop → Products → New opens a single form:
Details
Enter the name, pick a category, choose whether it is sold by weight (grams) or by unit (each), and add a description.
A first price/size (optional here)
Add a size label (for example "1 kg"), its price, and the quantity that size represents (in grams or units).
Today's stock (optional)
Enter a quantity available today to publish stock straight away.
Photos (optional)
Add one or more photos. They upload securely to the shop's media storage.
Saving creates the product (its web address is generated from the name) and adds whatever price, stock and photos you provided. You then land on its edit page to finish setting it up.
Editing a product
The product edit page has several panels:
Details
Name, category and description, plus toggles for status (active / draft / archived) and featured (whether it is highlighted on the home page).
Images
The photo gallery. Add photos, remove them, edit alt text, and drag to reorder.
Variants (prices & sizes)
The list of sizes and prices. Add a new one (name, quantity value, price) or delete an existing one. This is what powers the weight bands the customer sees.
Stock
A quick way to publish or view daily stock for this product.
Sellability checklist
A simple checklist showing whether the product is ready to sell — its details, pricing, photos, and today's stock.
Photos are uploaded through a secure, time-limited link directly to the shop's media storage. Large images are capped, so very big files may be rejected — resize oversized photos before uploading.
Categories
Shop → Products → Categories organises products into the groups customers browse. For each category you set a name, a web address (slug), a description, a sort order, an optional image, and whether it is active.
Collections
Shop → Products → Collections builds curated bundles (for example "Best sellers" or a barbecue box). A collection has a name, description, image, sort order and a product picker — choose the products to include and drag to order them.
Preparation options
Shop → Products → Preparation options defines the choices a customer makes on a product page — for example a Cut group with options Whole / Diced / Minced, or a Bone group with In / Out.
Pick the product
Choose which product you are setting options for.
Add a group
Create a group (for example "Cut"), give it a customer-facing name, decide whether it is required (the customer must choose), and set its order.
Add options
Add the choices inside the group (for example "Minced") and set their order. Each option can carry a surcharge.
Required groups block add-to-basket
If a group is marked required, the customer cannot add the item until they pick an option — this is the message they see on the product page.
